In the morning session, pupils from local special schools shared the projects they'd been working on throughout January with NTU chemistry students, as well as exploring sensory science experiments.
In the afternoon session, pupils demonstrated their learning about DNA, light, computer science, colour, microscopes and urban design with one another. Many of the groups were joined by the specialists they'd been working with on their projects, including local architects and computer scientists from the University of Nottingham.
Pupils also explored the research being undertaken locally including 3D printing and microscopyat University of Nottingham and through the National Education Nature Park.
The Real Science in Schools is an annual event which aims to inspire children's passion and enthusiasm for their own scientific research, develop their confidence and communication skills and provide opportunities for pupils to connect with scientists, researchers and experts.
