Music - lessons and live performances

Learn from the comfort of your own home

Learn how to play an instruments or enjoy performances by local artists, all from the comfort of your own home.

  • Join Rob Green, Nottingham-based singer/songwriter for a series of practical songwriting workshops, giving advice and guidance in lyric writing over on the Nottingham Young Creatives website.


  • Nottingham Playhouse have turned choir practice into a free digital workshop, find out more on the website here.

  

  • NMH Music Service Ensembles: Area Bands, RHYO InterConnect and RHYOwill continue to rehearse during lockdown!  If you are in Year 5 or 6 at a Nottingham City primary school, have been learning an instrument at school with a Music Service teacher, have an instrument at home (or are able to collect your instrument from school) and would like to join one of the Area Bands, please complete an enrolment form.  If you are Grade 1-4, live or attend school in Nottingham City, and would like to consider joining RHYO InterConnect, or if you are Grade 4+, live or attend school in Nottingham City and would like to consider joining RHYO, please contact info@nottinghammusichub.org.uk


  • Nottingham Music Hub explore collaboration and cooperation through the Voces 8 method. Join Graham Drummond as he takes us through a vocal collaboration piece, using 8 different musical ideas from across the world and layering them to create a piece of music. Originally created for RSE Day  2020.


  • BBC Proms at Home: Weekly activities for the whole family. A specially selected Prom for you to enjoy with a linked creative activity that can be completed at home without any special materials or preparation! A perfect, simple and easy way to keep listening, enjoying and creating music at this time.

MusiQuest 2021

NMH have relaunched the fantastic MusicQuest Challenge on the Music Hub website!. This brilliant musical adventure explores many aspects of music including rhythm, pitch and tempo, and uses a wide range of musical genres to lead you on a journey through questions and activities that can (if you are brave enough!) bring you to the ultimate goal - finding the mysterious Lost Chord!  Featuring CBBC's intrepid explorer Andy Day, MusiQuest is an adventure that can be enjoyed either at school or at home, and is completely free of charge.
